I get it though, a bit wasteful but…we all have our quirks

It’s rice and seaweed. It barely counts as wasteful, and at least it is bio-degradable so some organism or other will appreciate it.

Plus, cost-wise the rice + seaweed bit are the least costly piece of the sushi roll. Rice is cheap cheap cheap. They aren't using premium brands of rice in those premades and that one she's got... well the rice looks a little gross so I don't actually blame her. (it looks too squishy and mushy and cold).

Not sure why the downvotes because you’re right. I guess the downvoters don’t realize there are different kinds of rice and ways to prepare it.
