Not only that, but consistent wear her very pricey earrings. It’s such a middle class thing - I am soooo broke. Brokety-broke-broke-broke, and I absolutely have a piece of jewelry that is 100s of dollars that I consistently wear.
I consistently see male politicians wearing $8,000 suits, $1,000 shoes and similarly expensive wallets and toting briefcases that match the vibe. But, I see pundits calling out women for being extravagant all the time. It’s so obvious that it sparks an eye roll every time I see it.
Judging her for this is such a perfect example of the misogyny we have against women in politics.

At least the earrings are a heirloom, my graphics card will be useless in a few years and my kids don't want to inherit all my BG3 save files.
A lot of people are using $800-$1000 smartphones to complain about how someone else likes to spend their money. We all have things we splurge on that someone else might not think is important.

No, that's a ton for a GPU. $1000 just about gets you a 4080 Super, the 2nd most powerful gaming GPU currently on the market. For reference, my gpu(a 2060) is going for ~$120 used on ebay, and still plays everything I throw at it just fine. Prices came down awhile ago.
Totally agree with your point, but I wanted to add that a GeForce RTX 4090 currently can weigh in between $2000 and $3000 depending on brand and spec, and a matching Samsung odyssey monitor can set you back another $1-2k

There aren’t even a lot of minimum wage bros at all. About 1.5% of Americans earn minimum wage. It’s a million people, and that sounds like a lot, but it’s really not that many.
I live in nyc and one of my coworkers mouth dropped when I told her the federal minimum wage. It’s crazy that I made the current federal minimum wage on my first job in high school. I can’t imagine how people even live off the minimum wage in states that pay even double it.
