From the receipt i can see that it was bought in Gerrmany, and the package of the sushi looks like the one from Edeka. Now some Edekas have a station where employees make them fresh by hand, which is why it's so expensive
Even if it's hand made by someone's Japanese grandmother using home brewed soy sauce and rice grown in her backyard... it's still not worth 9€ for 3 pieces lol.
It's actually from Rewe, their new sushi brand called "Eat Happy"
quite expensive compared to other super market sushi but it's freshly hand made every day. I've tried it a few times now and it's actually the best super market sushi I've eaten yet.
Eat Happy has been there since 2013 tho 😅 as a former employee I'm glad that you like it. You can look up different shop locations throughout Germany, theya re literally everywhere. In Kaufland, they are available under different name. Or you can also try Sushi Circle, which actually lets you order what you like online to pick up.
oh didn't knew that! The newest local Rewe had an Eat Happy shop when it opened a few months ago and since then almost all other Rewe markets in my town added an Eat Happy shelf to their store. haven't heard of it before.
And also thought the one at Kaufland was knockoff but good to know they are made by the same people ^
I got started on supermarket sushi with the freshly made stuff at Rewe, then I moved back to England and tried it here and it is so awful! Flavour and texture like a brick. Eat Happy was so good!

Wait you guys have factory-made sushi? Here in Canada I've ONLY seen it be made by hand, and 8 pieces are the equivalent of about 7€, and it used to be significantly cheaper pre-Covid.
Is there someone in the supermarket that is making sushi by hand? I’ve never ever seen that anywhere in Europe. Everything is either factory made or made by hand in some mass production facility.
Yes we have a lot of that everywhere in Germany. I have been working for two of those companies and they make and sell fresh sushi every day. It's different from some companies which deliver boxes of factory made sushi to sell in supermarkets.
You usually get sushi at the restaurant here - and I don't necessarily mean sit down restaurants, there's "fast food" sushi places where you grab whatever you want, pay for it, and be on your merry way - these places all make the sushi by hand in front of you.
Grocery stores that have a deli sometimes sell sushi too, but it's rare and looks pretty shit. I've personally never tried that since sushi places are a dime a dozen around here.
We have those in our lokal Rewe too (Munich). But there are usually 8 pieces per package for this price. I've never seen a package with less pieces. The small Maki are about 5€ depending on the filling, and the bigger rolls are a bit more expensive starting with 7,99€. Maybe OP meant their gf only ate the filling of three and didn't want the rest? Which is exactly what my toddler did for lunch today. Ate the avocado and left the rest for me
