She was in her 30’s when the atomic bombs were dropped and could watch footage of it on her iPhone now. Crazy

You would think that as long as I’ve been using the internet I would’ve learned that sarcasm doesn’t translate.
I haven’t.

I think the look on her face says: "Idiots, I didn't get this old by eating cake. I'd like my usual: edamame, miso soup and yam."

Man, every single person alive when she was born is now dead. What a thought.

My grandpa was 108, he said it's fucking in your youth and chewing tobacco in your old age.
I'm in my mid 30s

She looks healthier than the other 110+ folks we see. I say this respectfully but for my lack of better words, she looks way less skeletal than them.

It's a little weird to think that my great grandmother was born twenty years before her, and that I knew g'grandma well into my college years.

Ask her what she hates the most about the world today and I swear on all that is holy I will follow her mandate. She’s holds more wisdom than anyone.

Wow, 116 years old? That's incredible! I wonder what life was like back in 1908. She's probably seen a lot of changes over the years. I bet she has some amazing stories to tell.

It crazy to me how close we are to the beginning of the USA. Her mother was likely young during President Ulysses S Grant.

Seems like every time one of these remarkable people are awarded with this honor they die. I cannot remember one that made it more that a week.
